  • National Night Out will take place on August 5th from 5:30-8:30pm at the open field between Tall Trees and Branchwood. NNO is an annual crime prevention event that promotes police-community partnerships; crime, drug and violence prevention; safety; and neighborhood unity. Recent Events

  • First Annual Neighborhood Block Party: The temperature on August 1 topped 100 degrees, but that did not keep over 60 Woodland Park residents from coming out to the first-ever Neighborhood Block Party in recognition of National Night Out!

While members of the board, and other volunteers scooped quickly melting ice-cream, everyone else enjoyed the Moon Bounce, balloons, games, and friendly conversation, or had their faces and arms painted by Crystal from Not Just Faces. State Delegates, Gail Bates and Warren Miller, paid a visit & took the time to meet and speak with everyone. Firemen from the Howard County Fire Department arrived in their bright red truck, which they allowed everyone to check out inside and out all evening long. They even handed out red firemen hats! While it was too hot for McGruff the Dog to make an appearance, 3 officers from the Howard County Police came on his behalf and passed out free water bottles, pens and other goodies.

Despite the unrelenting heat, the evening was a great success. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help, and thank you to everyone who came out to mingle! We hope to see you all again at next year's block party.
